Bali Ayam Burger

25 Minute Bali Ayam Burger. Ayam means chicken in Indonesian and this burger is bloody banging. So filling and includes chips! Perfect for the family as it's not too spicy.

Serves: 2 Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Large Chicken Breast Fillet

  • 1/2 Cucumber, sliced into rounds, then sliced into small sticks

  • 1 Spring Onion, sliced into strips

  • 2 Brioche Rolls or other Burger Buns

  • 3 Tablespoons Mayonnaise

  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil

  • 1 White Potato, skin on, cut into fries

  • 1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce

  • 1 Tablespoon Harissa (optional)

  • 1 Garlic Clove, minced

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 220°C. Then toss the potatoes in 1 tablespoon of olive oil and season well. Pop them onto a baking tray and bake until crisp, around 25 mins.

  2. Meanwhile, heat a large non-stick pan over a high heat, when nice and hot add the chicken breast and cook for around 3 mins on each side, making sure it's nice and brown. Add garlic, soy and a few tablespoons of water to the same pan, cover and cook for a further 10 mins, until the chicken is cooked through. Once ready, remove from the heat and set aside.

  3. Next combine the mayo and the harissa together in a small bowl and set aside. Take your buns and pop them in the oven to crisp up for a few minutes before serving. or you could charr them in a hot griddle pan.

  4. Meanwhile, using two forks, begin to shred the chicken in the pan, allowing it to sit in the juices and get even more tasty!

  5. Build your burger with a layer of the harissa mayo, cucumber, spring onion, chicken, and yummy fries!
