Body Confidence - Journal Prompts

Don't worry it's totally normal to feel stuck with what to write in your journal. It doesn’t come as easy to many people, so don’t feel silly if you haven’t a clue what to write.


Using journal prompts is a great way to overcome this, and help you get into the swing of things.


Use these journal prompts to help you write in your journal, and with a bit of practice, patience, and time, the pages should start flowing!


I have separated these journal prompts into different categories for what your journal goals could be more focused on. Of course, you can journal on a few points from each section.


Self Love - Body Confidence

  • Dear body, I love you because….

  • What do I desire more in life than losing weight?

  • In what areas of my life do I feel unfulfilled?

  • How do I show my physical body respect?

  • What is your first memory of disliking your body? Who was involved and how did you feel at the time?

  • How has society, social media, beauty standards, etc impacted your view of yourself? Be specific. How do those beauty ideals make you feel?

  • Think of a time when you felt really proud of yourself/your body. What was happening? How did you feel?

  • Make a body timeline. Write down a timeline of all the things your body has been through, survived and done through your life. Look at all the things your body has accomplished!

  • What is keeping you from loving and appreciating your body? What is holding you back from being able to love yourself right now? Is it diet culture or social media? Is it comments from family or friends? Write down everything you think is holding you back.

  • Imagine what your life is like when you’ve made peace with your body. Write down how you feel, how you spend your time, how you talk to yourself, how you feed and move your body. Write in the present tense like it’s already happened.
