Butter Chicken

25 Minute Butter Chicken. A curry the whole family will love, serve with either a naan or rice. You choose!

Serves: 4 Time: 25 minutes




  • 1 Tablespoon Butter

  • 2 Chicken Breasts, cut into chunks

  • 80g Clotted Cream or creme fraiche is fine

  • 1 Bunch Parsley, chopped

  • 2 Tomatoes, cut into wedges

Other Ingredients

  • 2 Packs Microwavable Basmati Rice or 50g dry weight per person rice or Small Naan per person

  • 2 Onions, sliced

  • 2 Garlic Cloves, minced

  • 1 Thumb -Sized Piece Fresh Ginger, grated

  • 4 Tablespoons Tomato Paste

  • 2 Teaspoons Cinnamon

  • 2 Teaspoons Dried Coriander

  • 2 Teaspoons Cumin

  • 1 Teaspoon Veg Oil


  1. Combine the cinnamon, cumin, coriander and seasoning in a bowl. Then add the chicken and toss in the spices well.

  2. Heat a large non-stick with the veg oil over high heat. When hot add the chicken and cook for around 3 minutes then remove from the pan and set aside.

  3. Return the pan to the heat with the butter, when hot add the onion, ginger and garlic. Cook until the onions are soft then add the tomatoes and tomato paste. Cook for 4 mins. Remove the pan from the heat then add the cream and stir until fully combined.

  4. Then add the chicken back into the pan along with 200ml of water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 more minutes.

  5. Finally, stir in the parsley and serve on a bed of rice and enjoy.
