Fear of Success

Today I want to talk to you about the FEAR OF SUCCESS

😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱


Sounds crazy right? How can you possibly be afraid to succeed in losing weight, feeling healthier, fitter and be the best version of you that you can be?


Surely it's what you have wanted for years...


But it's true, and here's why.


When your goal is to eat well and lose weight we are suddenly faced with the fact that we can no longer use food as an escape, or reward...


It means we have to find other ways to deal with these difficult times, which then causes us stress and fear!


It means our weight is no longer an excuse to avoid the things we might want to do, but are probably afraid of...


How many of us have told ourselves that “when I lose weight...."

  • "I’ll get back into dating"

  • "I’ll ask for a promotion"

  • "I'll finally take that beach holiday”

  • "I'll leave my husband"

But secretly or subconsciously, by not losing weight - you're glad that those challenges are safely put off for another day?


So even if we think we want to lose weight and get healthy, sometimes it just feels easier to stick with the way things are and avoid those challenging issues that our weight and eating habits have been hiding or suppressing.


This could also be subconscious for you if you keep putting off looking after yourself because "I'm always looking after others" or "I'm too busy to focus on myself right now, others need me"


You could have been in this self sabotage circle for years without even realising it.


The important thing you do now is to recognise that if this is you… you start to work on those feelings and the emotion behind the fear of success.
