Greek Shawarma Fakeaway

10 Minute Greek Shawarma Fakeaway. Perfect for summer, enjoy!

Serves: 4 Time: 10 minutes


 

Fresh Ingredients

  • 1 Block Halloumi, cut into thin slices

  • 1/2 Cucumber, diced

  • 2 Tomatoes, diced

  • 200g Hummus

  • 200g Natural Yoghurt

Cupboard Ingredients

  • 4 Pitta Bread or Tortilla Wraps, warmed

  • 2 Tablespoons Harissa or Chipotle Paste

  • 1 Red Onion, finely chopped

  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil

  • 2 Tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar

  • Small Handful Mint, chopped (optional)

  • 1 Lemon, juiced (optional)

  • Green Salad to serve (optional)

Method

  1. Heat the grill to high. In a small bowl, add the harissa or chipotle paste and lemon juice, and cover the halloumi slices. Lay the halloumi on a lined baking tray and pop under the grill for 5 mins, turning halfway.

  2. Meanwhile, toss the cucumber, onion and tomatoes in a bowl along with the oil and vinegar, season well.

  3. Then in a separate bowl, mix the hummus and yoghurt together.

  4. Build the pita with the hummus, yoghurt and sliced halloumi inside. Finish with a sprinkle of mint and enjoy!
