Here are 10 healthy habits to get you started.

This is what most of us think about when we hear the words ‘self care’.


Truth is, it’s much more than this.


Self care is all about putting ourselves as number 1.


Why is self care important?


Ask yourself this: who is going to spend every minute of every day with you from birth to death?


It’s YOU.


You are going to spend more time with you than anyone else in this world.


Therefore, you need to have a good relationship with yourself.


It’s so important for your physical, social and mental wellbeing!


So, how do you get started?


Here are 10 habits to give yourself a little bit more loving:


Habit 1: Meditate

Meditation is a great way to get in touch with your thoughts and feelings.


You’ll learn to recognise your thoughts, and turn them into lessons and positives.


It’s an amazing tool for being happier in your own head.


Habit 2: Do something you love

What do you love to do?


Craft? Sports? Cooking?


Whatever your hobbies, make sure you make time for them.


Habit 3: Take yourself for coffee

I love going for coffee on my own. I can people watch, think about things, and most importantly, really appreciate the good coffee.


Doing nice things with yourself really teaches you about gratitude, and we need that.


Habit 4: Read

Fiction or nonfiction, reading is a great way to focus on just one thing and forget for a moment the chaos of everyday life.


Whether you want to learn something new, or escape reality, reading does this.


Habit 5: Chillax

The typical face mask and bubble bath scenario.


It’s an obvious choice, but you can see why.


If you’re feeling fancy, why not throw in a glass of wine as well!


Habit 6: Masturbate

Stick with me here.


Masturbation, quite honestly it’s not discussed or done enough.


When it comes to sex, you know what you want, so who better to make love to you than yourself.


You gain self-satisfaction and an abundance of feel-good hormones!


Habit 7: Go on a solo trip

Want to go somewhere but no one to go with?


Who cares, take yourself on that holiday!


Habit 8: Listen to your favourite music

Music is such a powerful tool, and releases all the feel good endorphins.


Stick on some happy tunes, belt out the lyrics, and dance like nobody's watching.


If you need an upbeat playlist, songs to sing in the shower on Spotify always does it for me!


Habit 9: Exercise

We all know exercise is good for us. There’s not much to explain here, just do it!


Habit 10: Journal

Journalling is great to clear up your thoughts.


It’s like talking to someone without worrying about what they think.


Clear your mind by writing down your thoughts everyday.


These tips won’t solve your problems, but they do give you satisfaction and a greater outlook on life and your thoughts and feelings!
